The most unusual film of the 70's that explores the limits of perfomance surfing at that time. A group of imaginative young surfers radically changed our concept of wave riding. These surfers perform thier dance on tubular swells that even today's heroe's might not have attempted.
Tubular Swells begins with a selection of beautifully filmed shots of hollow waves, building to a climax. We visit Victoria for the Bells, Queensland and Burleigh, then Bali, Indonesia, on to South Africa, back to Hawaii for the Smirnoff and ends with some hardcore backhand Pipeline surfing. Music is by Fleetwood Mac, Steve Miller Band and others.
